Maya Group Immersion

A Ceremonial Journey Diving Deep into Ancestral Connection
Guatemala is a wonderful and multi-faceted country with lively people and long-standing tradition. Led by local shaman Francisco Puac, Guatemala expert Shadi Henau and spiritual travel guide Kilian Bodhi Ameen we set out to discover the rich history of this mesmerizing culture.
On this journey Maya shaman Francisco Puac will guide us through the temples and history of this country, backed by his natural connection to Spirit and his knowledge of Maya Cosmovision. Kilian and Shadi host lectures, meditations, sharing circles as well as translate during workshops, supporting the group and holding space for integration.

Temple IV at Tikal
We start the trip in the old capital of Antigua Guatemala and then travel West to the ancient Kaqchikel-Maya capital Iximche. Here we meet up with Francisco and ritually open the journey.

The remainder of the first week we spend at the beautiful Atitlan Lake, guided though the basics of Maya Cosmovision during four interactive workshops. There will be plenty of time to discover the surroundings and to relax. Also, there will be the possibility to receive a personal reading from Francisco.

At the end of our first week we visit the National Archaeological Museum and continue our journey to the Northern department of Peten, where most of the Maya temples are situated.

Peten Itza Tikal Yaxha Sacred Sites
During the second week we'll discover the Maya cities in the North of Guatemala. Our visits will be ceremonially conducted by Francisco. The Maya temples are places of profound value and knowledge where we can connect with ancestral knowledge.

We start off at the Petexbatun lagoon where we visit smaller, untouched sacred sites in the jungle. A couple of days later we set off to El Remate at the shores of Lake Peten Itza. This is an excellent base to visit the nearby temples of Tikal, Uaxactun and Yaxha. In some of the temples we will be guided by a local guide and Francisco will lead us through the visits following the energies of the Mayan calendar.

Afterwards we head to the colonial town of Flores where we ceremonially close the journey and prepare for the return flight to Guatemala City on Friday night.

The optional third week is a group expedition to the biggest and one of the oldest of all the Maya sacred sites: El Mirador. We go on a five day 'pilgrimage' through the jungle of Peten and spend a full day, two nights at the complex, which is absolutely massive and has over 1.000 structures over a surface of roughly 25 square kilometres. Of course we'll conduct a Maya ceremony at the site, and there will be ample possibility to spot wildlife.

This expedition will be the icing on the cake of our journey through Guatemala.

After the five day expedition we get some rest in Flores and then take a day to relax in the thermal hot springs of Santa Teresita to soak off the jungle before heading home.

Don Francisco's 45 years of experience in the field, and his natural ancestral connection are invaluable.
Shadi Henau

Shadi is originally from Belgium and has been living in Guatemala since five years. He travelled all over Latin America, through India and in the US during which he trained to be a Yoga teacher, Reiki Master and Cacao facilitator. He's now focusing on hosting Cacao workshops together with other ceremony leaders, including ecstatic dance, movement, bodywork and Shamanism. Shadi is assisting in the creation of a sustainable living project in the hills above the Atitlan Lake in Guatemala and is training as a retreat facilitator and travel organizer for Guatemala and other Latin American destinations. His year-long travel experience make him the perfect host for spiritual, slightly adventurous travels, and his sensitive presence supports the transformational process of our groups.

Kilian was born in the Netherlands and has been living and working in Germany for over 20 years. After finishing his studies, he worked at his father's spiritual center and started to pave his way through the esoteric landscape of the 80s and 90s. He worked closely together with Tom Kenyon and Drunvalo Melchizedek, whose legendary Flower of Life workshop he taught for more than 15 years together with Shamanism. During that period he also started to offer spiritual group travels to India, England, Egypt, Scotland, the Bahamas and the Azores. Kilian's lifelong experience with, and his fascination for the ancestral knowledge of this Earth are key elements in our trips, and he easily creates a field of fascination and respect for the esoteric mysteries of the Earth, in any group he leads.
